Maker Lab Math Project List

Building Boats
Project Description

Students will become engineers by inventing and building their own boats. They will also be practicing their math skills by adding up how much their boat will cost based on the supplies that they used. Students will learn about force and motion and what causes a stationary object to move. Lastly, the will have basic idea of density and buoyancy.

3-D Mini Structures
Project Description

During this project the students will put their engineering and math skills to the test! Students must design their own building that is at least 200 ft. tall and build a smaller scale version of their building using popsicle sticks. They must do the math to create a handheld version, create a key and have a blueprint design of their building.
